Our Team

Jeanette Hartog

Jeanette is originally from and has spent the majority of her life in the suburbs of Salt Lake City, Utah.  She attended Utah State University where she obtained her degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education. During her time at Utah State, she began two of her most important relationships.  She took the step of beginning a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after meeting with a leader from Campus Crusade for Christ.  She grew up attending church with her family and already believed in the existence of a loving God, but it was at this time that she began the process of becoming a disciple of the Lord and desired to follow Him in every area of her life. It wasn’t long after that time that she met her husband Clayton.  They were married in June of 1995 and will celebrate 30 years of marriage next year. 

Jeanette has 9 years of experience working in the public schools and 3 years of experience working at private Christian schools. After her first five years of teaching and the birth of her son, she decided to become a stay at home mom and invested her extra time in various leadership roles within her local MOPS group.  She now has 3 young adult sons (24 yrs, 22 yrs, and 19yrs) and one daughter-in-law.  

Jeanette and her family moved to Wake Forest in June of 2018 after her husband decided to begin a new job in Raleigh.  She has been involved in Bible studies, Equip groups, and volunteers for Summit Kids at the Capital Hills Campus of the Summit Church. As her faith has grown and developed these past 6 years, she has felt deep in her soul that the Lord was preparing her for something new.  She now believes that He was preparing her for her new position at HLA!  She can’t wait to meet her 3rd grade class and their families and begin this journey of combining two of her biggest passions - education and discipleship.
